2013 Book to Movie Challenge

It's simple...read books that have been turned in to films, review them, then watch the movie.  I think this is supposed to be a monthly thing…sooooo I am already late, since we are now in the midst of March.  But, I have VIP passes to go see The Host with the kid this Thursday.

I’ve had the book a couple of years. It’s a little slow at the start, so I kept putting it down. Now that the kid has picked it up and loves it and we’re going to see the movie this week (it actually looks pretty interesting), it might be a good time to steal the book back and get started on this challenge.  Hopefully this will motivate me to read more.

To enter, just go to this site (or not) to link to a post on your blog mentioning the challenge and the challenge level you’re attempting. You can change challenge levels at any time and the challenge levels are as follows:
  • Movie Fan - read 3 books and watch their movies
  • Movie Devotee - read 6 books and watch their movies
  • Movie Lover - read 9 books and watch their movies
  • Movie Aficianado - read 12 books and watch their movie

  1. I read The Host several years ago and LOVED it, but I probably won't watch the movie. I've got this thing about boycotting movies I feel are "whitewashed," and this one is definitely whitewashed. I can't wait to read what you think of the book and movie, though.

    1. Totally understandable! I'm going to see it tonight. The teen isn't finished reading the book, so I haven't picked it up yet. I actually look forward to seeing the movie first. There are VERY few movies better than the book, so I don't want to read the book and then feel let down with the movie. Doing it backwards lets me at least enjoy the movie for what it is. I'll do a review next week.
